It seems that the fish has suddenly decided to become a bird... 🐟✨

Flying fish really flutter out of the water by spreading long fins that resemble wings. But no, they don’t wave them like birds. The secret is in another.

After raging underwater at tremendous speed, the fish literally shoots from the ocean, escaping from predators. In the air, her powerful pectoral fins work like real wings, allowing you to glide tens and even hundreds of meters above the sea’s surface.

Some species can fly over 200 meters while staying in the air for a few seconds. And in order not to lose speed, they touch the tail of the water and get an extra boost - this technique is called "steering".

And that's not all. Batfish are important to marine ecosystems: they breed near coral reefs, and their caviar becomes food for many small ocean inhabitants, supporting reef life. 🌊🌊

Nature proves again: the most incredible "superpowers" are not fiction.
